Value Gathering Experience
The Value Gathering is an interactive, engaging, and creative experience designed to achieve four primary goals:
- Give team members insight to one another’s personal and professional values, increasing respect.
- Give team members insight to their shared values, both within the team and within the wider organization.
- Identify and document short and long-term goals and commitments to success with respect to identified values.
- Implement an ongoing Work Design Team to monitor progress and implement new initiatives.

Get it All Online
We transcribe the questions, comments and ideas that your team generates into a private website which your team uses to bring their experience back into the workplace. Only participants have access to this website. Keep your shared knowledge where everyone can get to it and keep your initiative growing! We provide training on how to edit and transform this website for your team’s future use.
Scheduling
Depending on your requirements, a full-day experience begins between 8- 9 am and ends between 4–5pm.
Agenda
We will consult with you ahead of the experience, in order to understand and meet the needs of your team. This agenda is an example agenda. The final agenda will reflect what we discover both before and during the experience.
- Arrive—drop off coats, bags, and cellphones, have coffee and a snack
- Welcome—short overview of the experience, introduction of facilitators
- Flow—movement exercise, develops awareness of energy balance in teams and gets everyone familiar with the environment
- Make Your “Portable You”—individuals create objects and displays that celebrate what they value about themselves and share them with the group. We will explore the individual skills and abilities of each team member and uncover their hidden gifts for the benefit of the group.
- Discover Shared Values—we discuss the values of the group and review their experience; we look at organizational values and principles and how the group reflects them in its work. We will then develop and cluster these values into value statements and principles to which all agree.
- Bringing Values to Life—your group is segmented into smaller working teams, each of which develops one of the chosen value statements into performance, presentation, and creation with the help of creative professionals. This experience moves principles and values from the abstract to the concrete, demonstrating them for the rest of the group.
- Creating a Communication Culture—the group defines and documents its strategy for communicating within itself, with respect to calendars, mediums, and messages. We will also provide technical training on the private website at this time.
- Commitments and Learnings—the group identifies commitments they can make as individuals to bringing the values into the workplace, and share learning from the overall experience. At this point we discuss the formation of a Work Design Team. This team internally motivates the commitments and will continue to apply the technology and techniques from the Value Gathering with their own teams.

Follow-up for Team Transformation
We are dedicated to making it real and making it last. We strongly believe that our assistance both before and after the event ensures a quality experience that will enhance your team. A strategy is developed before your event, to ensure that your team’s experience aligns with your goals. After your event, we follow-up with your team to assist the translation of their commitments back into the workplace. Consulting time with our facilitators will include one follow-up session within the first month after the event, to ensure that your new website is productive to your goals and commitments. In addition, facilitators will provide consulting time to support the first 6 months’ progress of your Work Design Team, which is an outgrowth of the event experience.
Work Design Team
After the Value Gathering event, the Work Design Team meets monthly, to monitor, develop and implement action items. Team members will be chosen by management and are representatives of the wider team (usually about 5 to 8 people). In addition to implementing the action items from the Value Gathering, they solicit new ideas and suggestions that correspond to the continuing needs of the wider team and then determine new action items to be presented for managerial approval. Once action items are approved, the Work Design Team delegates the implementation and continues to monitor progress. The Work Design Team ensures that commitments are completed and your team continues developing and implementing new initiatives to enhance the success of your team.
